I piggy backed another 270ohm on R831 and the display illuminated, but my 1/8w resistor cooked within seconds.įailing that I unplugged P103 from the tuner board, and the VFD lit, and input selects worked (even with the original cooked R831)! So, I connected a known working tuner board, and it went back to no VFD and input select lockups. I found that the +5.6v (pin 2 on P103) at a low ~1.2v. VFD fillament voltage ~3v instead of 27v (in manual), and fillaments are intact inside the VFD. VFD not displaying anything, input select locking up after the first button pressed, and R831 cooked.
